First run of spybot S&D after installation

After installation, when it was loading for first run, it brought a pop-up,

If you remove advertisement robots with this program, you maynot be allowed to continue using thier host programs, read thier licence agreement for further information.
An ok button in the pop-up the button had a green tick on it.



What do i do?

Hello,

That is a general notification. You just can click on OK.
It tells you if you have bad programs on your pc that you are not aware of those baddies are being deleted and do not function anymore.
Nothing to worry. ;)

The wizard on first run, took me through about 3 steps, first being storing registry, 3rd being update, when i clicked to update, i did the updation. But the wizard vanished. I couldnt complete the rest of the steps. And the spybot S&D program was open so i am running the scan without doing any of the last steps of the wizard.
 
Hello,

Please run Spybot - Search & Destroy and switch to the Advanced mode via the menu item Mode.
Now select 'Settings' - 'Settings' from the navigation bar on the left.

Now choose 'Wizard' from the navigation bar above.

I switched to advanced mode via menu item mode, and clicked on settings in the navigation bar on the left.

Now there is no wizard written anywhere. Should i place a screen shot.

Please select it two times like I have already described.
Select the over topic settings and then the under category settings - both from the navigation bar on the left.

Yes i just finished doing the wizard by selecting subcatagory settings in settings (that makes it two times). And i found i then found the wizard.

But the wizard was odd. It took me through

step 3 - registry backup
step 5 - check for updates
step 6 - immunise
step 7 - read through help etc

and skipped rest.



Like i described the first time i ran spybot the wizard when it had ran first time and had vanished midway, then it had gone to

step 3 - registry backup
step 5 - check for updates

and vanished.

Hello,

You can also make the proxy change in the settings section.
Scroll down to the point "Web update".
There you can tick the checkbox in front of "Use proxy to connect to update server."

The wizards's steps 1, 2, 4 are:
1. Desktop icon / start menu
2. Restore point
4. Proxy

You can change and edit them all in the settings section.
Please take a closer look.
And there is also a help file in Spybot itself that you might want to use. ;)
