Hello everyone,

I am a new user here so I hope this post is in the right place.

I installed instant check the free version which can be found at - http://www.easydesksoftware.com/check.htm (not meant to be advertising, just in case someone wants to look).

I downloaded the free trial and installed it. It did work just fine, but when Tea Timer tried to load after the reboot it reported back "Entry Point Not Found" and gave me an ok box. I then clicked OK and it said "Spybotsd: SpyBotSD,exe entry point not found, The procedure entry point RtlUnhandledExceptionFilter could not be located in the dynamic link library ntdll.dll.

I then click OK, and the same message comes up again.

I click OK again and spybot comes up.

I am running windows 2000
have spybot 1.6.2
using avast antivirus

If anyone can help me it would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hello BarkingMad,

Not being familiar with easydesksoftware I performed a search which brought up this Web Of Trust (WOT) rating: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/easydesksoftware.com

The site sells Home & Business Accounting Software and various Tools including ones for the Registry. FYI, Registry Cleaners, not recommended (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=30038)

Which program did you install?

Best regards.

Hello Tashi,

I went to http://www.easydesksoftware.com/check.htm and clicked the download button there for the 15 day free trial of the check writing software. It downloaded "Inscheck.exe" a file I still have in my browsers downloaded file list.

I did not use any of the registry tools or scanners or anything else, just that one application which worked but seemed to mess up some other things.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi BarkingMad,

I did not use any of the registry tools or scanners or anything else, just that one application which worked but seemed to mess up some other things.

Did you contact that company about the issues which occurred after installing their software?

Best regards. :)

Hi BarkingMad,

The procedure entry point RtlUnhandledExceptionFilter could not be located in the dynamic link library ntdll.dll.

I am running windows 2000Win 2k
"RtlUnhandledExceptionFilter could not be located"
http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/Win2000/microsoft.public.win2000.networking/2004-07/1004.html

Are you experiencing the same issue with any other program?

Hi Tashi,

I was having it in Opera as well, and in Tea Timer and Spybot. I found this link- http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-1516013.php I was coming here to tell you what I found and I see we have found the same thing. Renaming it did indeed help, and seems to have resolved all the errors.

By the way, here is what the software company said (for what it's worth)-

"Easy Desk Software
to me

It sound like the file ntdll is corrupted. This is a system file, nothing instant check installed or uses directly, it call other dll files that may call upon ntdll. it is a base level dll that speaks to the kernel32.dll directly. Try replacing it"
