Cannot install Spybot

Not my PC, trying to help a co-worker.
PC running slow, so, I install malwarebyte, run it it finds nothing.
Try to install Spybot, I get to where it wants to connect to the internet, and it hangs up there.
So I download Firefox, install. It cannot connect to ANY web site, but IE can.
I have tried "run as admin", as well as logging in as the admin, all with the same results.
Also tried in safe mode, same result.
What should I try next?

Yes it is.

I somehow got firefox loaded and was able to connect to the internet to install Spybot. It found nothing, same as Malwarebyte. :confused:
I was sure it would find something.

Spybot-S&D is free for personal use, other vendors may have similar terms. ;)
