virus help

[malem]

so i did a scan with norton and i came up with 3 virus's one was able to manually delete in norton one was quaratined and another is still out their, i have run spybot and found stuff, i have also run registry booster to try to remove unknown registries. I have pretty much used all the spyware programs possible and still nothing. i downloaded highjack this and here is the log file. please tell me what i need to do i am open to a million ideas. oh and by the way the virus names are. winhoq32.dll ( this is the one i am unable to delete) mstA7.tmp (one i have quarantined) and srvbiu[1].exe. Hello and welcome to the forum. I suggest "post and patience", when you add to your original post it looks like you are being helped.

I see little in this log, but I do see this, which is probably a trojan: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winhoq32.dll miekiemoes (one of the best) removes it here:
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/lofiversion/index.php/t70027.html and we will use the same method.

* Open hijackthis, click 'config' (bottom right)
Choose the tab 'misc Tools' on top.
Choose 'delete a file on reboot'
In the field, copy and paste next:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winhoq32.dll

Click open.
Hijackthis will tell you that this file will be deleted on next reboot and if you want to reboot now. Click Yes/ok
Your system must reboot now.

Post a new HJT log so I can see if that worked, add any comments you think will help. How is the computer running?

Thanks for returning your information, that one trojan was the only item showing in the log. I would delete the the one you have quarantined. If you are having no other issues, then do this.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

alright that is about it. today i also recieved a notification from norton saying that a win26.tmp, win40.tmp, win7d.tmp viruses were located on my computer and then went away any idea on whats going on. also i noticed my pc is running a little slower is their an possible tasks that i can close in order to speed it up. do you guys know of any ways i can make my internet connection faster either. i have been experiencing lagg or such when playing video games or talking on msn (very annoying):mad: :mad: anyways thanks for your help so much and so far if you have any other comments to make on my logfile much appreciated, thanks again malem

I do not use Norton and without seeing the exact record, I can't really say what it is reporting. For your benefit, you need to understand what .tmp files are, here is some information:

Here is some informstion to help you clean temp and TIF files.
This process will clean out your Temp files and your Temporary Internet Files. Please do both steps:

Step 1: Delete Temp Files
To clean out your temp files, click on Start and then run, and type %temp% and press the ok button.
This should open up the temp directory that your machine uses. Please delete all files that are found there. If you get an error when deleting a file, skip that file and delete all the others. If you had trouble deleting a file, reboot into Safe Mode and follow this step again. You should now be able to delete all the files.

Do this same process for %windir%\temp.

Step 2: Delete Temporary Internet Files
Now I want you to open up Internet Explorer, and click on the Tools menu and then Internet Options. At the General tab, which should be the first tab you are currently on, click on the Delete Files button and put a checkmark in Delete offline content. Then press the OK button. This may take quite a while, so do not be alarmed with how long it takes. When it is done, your Temporary Internet Files will now be deleted.

They can run tests and tell you if you are getting the download speeds you are paying for. If not, they may be able to help you adjust settings to maximize the speed. There are a lot of suggestions online, but I have found it is usually an issue with the ISP. Here are online tests:
