hello. i'm a real goober and not very computer saavy.

ran spybot and got 4 zango files that would not remove from computer during fix (listed below)

Zango: [SBI $9DB49993] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{30B15818-E110-4527-9C05-46ACE5A3460D}

Zango: [SBI $689E03A0] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{618AAD04-921F-44C2-BE38-C0818AF69861}

Zango: [SBI $411F0828] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{B5D2ED96-62F9-4C2C-956D-E425B1F67337}

Zango: [SBI $9432A0E4] Interface (Registry key, fixing failed)
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\{D3A412E8-1E4B-47D2-9B12-F88291F5AFBB}

researched this forum for about 4 hours and figured out how to get into the registry and found each of the zango folders in question.

using the first zango file listed above as an example, do i just click on the "30B15818-E110-4527-9C05-46ACE5A3460D" folder and then delete it?

then do the same process for each of the other zango folders?

i really appreciate you taking the time to help me!!!

and, i'm sorry i didn't post the DDS or hjt in this posting, but i don't even know what those are or where to find them (i am a true blue computer goober)

thank you and have a great day

Please read Before You Post (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)
While best efforts are made to assist in removing infections safely, unexpected stuff can happen. It is advisable that you back up your important data before starting any clean up procedure. Neither Safer Networking Forums nor the Analyst providing the advice may be held responsible for any loss.

Until we deem your system clean I am going to ask you not to install or uninstall any software or hardware execpt for the programs we may run.

Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.

DDS.com (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/dds)
DDS.scr (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/dds.scr)
DDS.pif (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/dds)

Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
Notepad will open with the results, click no to the Optional_Scan
Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.

Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control Here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html)

Hi,

Lets see if Malwarebytes can remove those Zango entries , it may find more associated with it , if not we can remove them manually if need be

Please download Malwarebytes from Here (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php) or Here (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html)

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan.
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c30/ken545/MBAMCapture.jpg
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected .
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.
Note: If you receive a notice that some of the items couldn't be removed, that they have been added to the delete on reboot list, please reboot.
Post the report please

malewarebytes was downloaded, scan was run, but zango is still there

guess i'll need directions how to manually remove

we i find the actual zango files in the registry, do i click on them and just hit delete?

your information has been very helpful...thanks!

Post the Malwarebytes log please unless it didn't find anything. You can open Malwarebytes and to to the report tab and it will be in there, copy and paste if for me to see.

Don't fool with the registry , let me see the Malwarebytes log , then run this scanner

Download OTL (http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTL.exe) to your Desktop

Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
Click on Minimal Output at the top
Download the following file scan.txt to your Desktop. Click here to download it (http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/download/395-otl-custom-scan-file-scantxt/). You may need to right click on it and select "Save"
Double click inside the Custom Scan box at the bottom
A window will appear saying "Click OK to load a custom scan from a file or Cancel to cancel"
Click the OK button and navigate to the file scan.txt which we just saved to your desktop
Select scan.txt and click Open. Writing will now appear under the Custom Scan box
Click the Run Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan won't take long.

When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time and post them in your topic

I have to post both files separately because it says they are tool large to post at the same time. The Extras file will post after this one.

Here is the OTL.Txt

Hi,

One of the problems we have is that your running the 64 bit version of windows( this is good and not a bad thing , this is the wave of the future) but right now there are not to many removal tools that will run on 64 bit, but OTL does and will find files and registry entries related to Zango that we can remove. We can remove those reg entries but something is blocking them from being removed or putting them back when you do remove them.

With Windows 7, you should be able to right click on the OTL file that we need and select SEND TO...................COMPRESSED ZIP FOLDER and the new folder should appear on your desktop.

Then open this thread and start a reply, underneath where it says Submit Reply you will see MANAGE ATTACHMENTS. Open it and use the browse feature to find the Zipped Folder on your desktop, then when it does click on Upload

The only thing that I see related to Zango is an uninstall file. It does not look like its installed, do this.

Backup Your Registry with ERUNT:
Download erunt.zip to your Desktop from here:
http://aumha.org/downloads/erunt.zip
Right-click erunt.zip, select Extract All... and follow the prompts to extract ERUNT to a new folder on your Desktop
Inside the new folder, double-click ERUNT.exe to start the program
OK all the prompts to back up your registry to the default location.Note: to restore your registry, go to the backup folder and start ERDNT.exe

Please download OTM by OldTimer (http://oldtimer.geekstogo.com/OTM.exe) and save it to your desktop.
Double click the http://billy-oneal.com/Canned%20Speeches/speechimages/OTM/OTMdesktopicon.png icon on your desktop.
Paste the following code under the http://billy-oneal.com/Canned%20Speeches/speechimages/OTM/pasteline.png area.
Do not include the word "Code".

:Commands
[purity]
[emptytemp]
[start explorer]
[Reboot]

Push the large http://billy-oneal.com/Canned%20Speeches/speechimages/OTM/btnmoveit.png button.
OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
Copy/Paste the contents under the http://billy-oneal.com/Canned%20Speeches/speechimages/OTM/results.png line here in your next reply.
If you are unable to copy/paste from this window (as will be the case if the machine was rebooted), open Notepad (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Notepad), click File->Open, in the File Name box enter *.log and press the Enter key, navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder, and open the newest .log file present, and copy/paste the contents of that document back here in your next post.
