but some of my programs are no longer operating properly. My yahoo messenger will no longer load and I keep getting the error to send report to Microsoft. Thanks for any advise given. Oh, also I previously used the add /remove programs to remove Mcafee, but it seems to still be on my computer (?)

Hello and welcome to the forum. I see nothing in this log that should be causing you any issues. I would think it is more than likely the program has an issues and would consider uninstalling and reinstalling the program. If that does not fix it, contact Yahoo.

If it scans as bad, navigate to the file and delete it. You may want to see if ewido will remove it for you.
You have also asked that I remove McAfee, I suggest you check Add Remove programs and uninstall it from there first if it is there, I will remove the balance with HJT.

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\Program Files\McAfee.com\ <<< delete that folder

Update ewido and then run a complete system scan, save those results.

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Post the ewido scan results and a new HJT log, let me know how the computer is running.

Hi pskelley, thanks for your help. I used the Kaspersky On-line Scanner and it didn’t find anything. Would I still need to delete Adware:adware/swimsuitnetwork Not disinfected c:\windows\system32\MYDLL.dll?

The reason I thought that this computer had some sort of bug is because I periodically get a blue screen, the computer shuts down without warning and I wasn't having any problems using the same programs on my desktop computer.

Also, I previously uninstalled/reinstalled yahoo messenger prior to finding this forum and it still wouldn’t work. It now does, Yea!

Oh, one more thing. The Mozilla tracking cookies always appear whenever I do a Spybot scan. I fix/delete them and they come back with each scan. Should I/Is there a way have the scan skip these since they are okay to keep?

:confused: Those are all nasty junk cookies ewido found, why would you choose not to take any action? I suggest you run ewido again, and delete what it locates.
I also suggest you use the free tools I provided to find out what that item is: c:\windows\system32\MYDLL.dll
If it comes back as bad which I believe it will IF it is still on the computer, I suggest you navigate to it and manually delete it.

ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

Added for that last question:
ewido would have removed those for you if you had let it, Spybot will also remove those kind of cookies. If they are appearing again it is because you are returning to sites that are placing cookies on your computer when you visit. Firefox does a great job of controlling cookies if you wish:

Hi, I have used all the scanners you listed but none of them reveal c:\windows\system32\MYDLL.dll as being bad.

I have tried to manually delete it, but could not because it is being used by some program.

I have set my options to ask me if I want to allow the cookie for each site, hopefully this will stop the bad ones from storing.

At times you may find a file that stubbornly refuses to be deleted by conventional means. HijackThis introduced, in version 1.98.2, a method to have Windows delete the file as it boots up, before the file has the chance to load. To do this follow these steps:

Start Hijackthis
Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot. Navigate to the file and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.
You will now be asked if you would like to reboot your computer to delete the file. Click on the Yes button if you would like to reboot now, otherwise click on the No button to reboot later.
