View Full Version : My Computer's badly infected! Please Help

I just bought a brand new dell notebook that arrived Tuesday this week. It came with a 3 yr McAfee virus subcription.While viewing a site my comp notified me of a virus found and that was the beginning of the maddness. Despite countless virus scans it seem to find nothing. I now realize that this red box alerting me to the virus and the flash yellow alert are a part of the infection. Because when I click them they try to take me to 1 of 3 fraud anti virus site. I found out the hard way by down loading one of them it was winpro2006 or winviruspro2006. Even though McAfee kept turning up nothing I knew something was wrong, So I installed aol spyware It oncassionaly blocks a file but the pop ups are still on my comp ( literally a red cirle and slash is always ways flashing above my windows xp help and suport icon at the bottom right of my screen). AOL Spy ware found Vundo Trojan on my system but couldn't delete or quarantine it. AOL spy ware has also found instances of Real spy 2.8 and Trojan Downloader.Win32.Zlob.ci(sorry it doesn't show me the rest of the title) Which It can't delete. I've also run Spy bot, ad-aware se, and etrust pest patrol in safe mode and have had no luck finding anything . I also noticed a new program listed called cowa banga, that I don't remember being there beforeand that I'm afraid to touch. I appreciate any help you can give. Here's my Hijackthis log.......

I followed the instructions. the flashing icon is gone:D . one thing though is there a chance when I reset my web settings, tgat i disabled aol. Aol loads but doesn't go past step 1, because it doesn't sense aa connection, whether I'm hooked up to wifi or broadband. Also just as I was about to send this email McAfee found 2 "Dialer-gen" (win3F0.tmp)PUP's on my comp(that didn't appear in all my previous scans, I clicked to remove them,so hopefully it's really gone.here are my reports...

After the last post I sent I ran S&d, Ad aware, and ewido on safe mode. I've just finished following the instructions in you post now. Should I purge the S&D backup's in recovery(windows security center.antivirusdisablenotify and wild tangent) and do you think it's possible the removal of wild tangent is why my aol isn't working? And that weird progam "cowabanga by OIN' is still in my progam files, it has an uninstall option(is it safe to use it). Heres my HJT log and again thanks so much

wild tangent is one of those fuzzy/gray apps, some call it spyware others dont. visit there website, read the privacy policy link down at bottom.

is that your AOL browser? ive never used it, but if you click on it in the add/remove programs panel there may be a option to repair it. or uninstall it, reboot and reinstall it
cowabanga by OIN' is still in my progam filesyes, run the uninstaller via the add/remove programs panel.

good. that last log looks ok. you have a squared and ewido, they are both alot alike in what they do. i would keep just one and uninstall the other via add/remove programs panel.
