View Full Version : Do not have appropriate permissions

I was infected with a virus and after removal I now get an error message when I try to start SpyBot. It says:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

I get this message when I try to access any of the security software I have on my system. Both Malware bytes and Kaspersky give the same thing.

Here is my DDS log

hi kandj91,

Based on the log you should not use this computer until its clean. Power it off so it has no connectivity. Is it a workplace computer? If so, you should inform whomever is responsible for the machines.
