Hello,

This is a known problem which can occur in Windows.
The problem is usually caused by having Drive C assigned to a device with removable media. If you have that situation then either put media in Drive C or reassign the device to another letter.

There are instructions for reassigning the device to another letter here: No Disk in the Drive (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;330137)

Best regards

Hi Sandra,

Drive C is as far as I am aware the bootable system partition on HDD0

I did a little surfing and found some one talking about a similar cause.

Long story short. I disabled a few of the infrequently used programs in Msconfig and now SpybotS&D is working correctly.

I disabled

PowerISO
Nokia OVI (2 entries)
DosPrinter
amsn
sandboxie control
groovemonitor
skype
autocad acstart16.exe

Hi hope this helps some one in the future.

One more post about this problem.

Running XPSP3

HDD died....bought a new one and installed OS. For some reason the new HDD was labeled "F" drive and my HP printer was given the "C" designation.

So when the above mentioned error came up when trying to run SB I simply unplugged my printer from the PC and SB worked perfectly.

Since I can't put a removable disk into the "drive" to change the letter designation of the printer to something other than "C" I just unplug it when running a SB scan
