• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

*voluntary* monitoring

I am guessing monitoring software packages like NetNanny are in direction opposition to what Spybot S&D is all about. I want the best of both worlds.

Is there anything out there which S&D won't stomp on, that will allow me to voluntarily designate a specific email address to receive a notice if I go to a proscribed site or engage in a specific proscribed activity?

The concept here isthat I want general privacy protection from uninvited strangers, but I want some help in my private life from a trusted friend.

Thanks,

Hello Bill,

Please do not ask for help in several places (forum and e-mail) as this takes double support time. Thanks.

If you want you can use monitor software for your kids etc.
But we still see that as keyloggers.

You can also use your programs together with Spybot - Search & Destroy.
You can exclude a product from the search as follows:
First of all proceed a scan with Spybot - Search & Destroy. Now, mark the item, you want to exclude from the search, with a left-click.
It is marked blue now. Then right-click this entry and select "exclude this product from further searches".

It is also possible to exclude it before the search. Please run Spybot - Search & Destroy in "Advanced Mode" and go to "Settings" -> "Ignore products". There you can tick the checkbox in front of the product you want to exclude from the search.

Best regards
Sandra
