why should i use spybot?

I have been using spybot since its release only it finds is some cookies which are deleted by running ccleaner and the program not only looks like showpiece.i have begin to think its a spy software.anyway spybot needs to be re-programed i mean updated to better scanning, and immunize and more tools.

I am uninstalling this show piece.

Spybot-S&D is not a spy software and does provide immunization. :wink:

munaf does make a valid point, though. Spybot needs to be reprogrammed - Spybot 2.0 never seems to arrive :( - to better protect Joe and Jane Doe, who is not even aware of tools like the one you mentioned, and that won't even protect them real time.

These users need to be better protected, and current version of Spybot is not up to the task; which is why many prefer to simply pay for other alternatives like Malwarebytes Anti-malware.

I do remember when Spybot used to have such high, and deserved, claims... Not anymore, though. :(

Now do you understand more about my posts? I'm not the only one who thinks it's about time SpyBot S&D needs an image makeover. SpyBot S&D has fallen behind and needs to catch up. Become just a stand alone scanner with better detection capabilities.
