Hi,

With IE 8 there's always at least 2 iexplore.exe processes running:
tabs open - iexplore.exe instances running

1 - 2
2 - 3
3 - 4
...

Was IE acting differently in your case?

atlantabravesfan
2011-01-23, 22:31
Yes, usually when I first start my computer up it works fine. Then after I have opened up several pages or opened and closed IE a few times it will start to slow down and eventually freeze. The only way to close it is to look in the process list in the task manager and end the iexpore.exe processes, which closes the window. I know it's not good for the computer to do this much but that's the only way I've found to close it once this happens. There are usually several (5-6, sometimes more) iexplore.exe processes running when this happens and the memory usage on at least a few of them will be extremely high (100,000 to 200,000 k or more) even if I only have 1 page open and am looking at a very simple page. Not sure if this is a malware issue or just a bum computer but I thought it would be worth making sure.

Hi,

Uninstall this old Java: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6

Update MBAM and run a full scan with it. Post back the report + fresh dds logs.
