hello im working on 4 windows xp computer one server 2003 and 2 windows 7 systems
the xp systems have been sending emails since dec 2010 and the win 7 systems just got put on the network(they where already full of viruses)
the company has scanned using malware bytes, spybot, and they use avast for there anti virus,
i scanned the xp systems with kaspersky avp tool, and removed some 5-10 viruses from one xp system, went i went to there service system in the back i powered it up and malware bytes kept on giving alerts saying it was blocking randome 2xx.xxx.xxx.xxx ip addreses non stop, so i disabled the ethernet and started a scan with combo fix got rid of 4 root kits, restarted and ran kaspersky avp tool, found 5 viruses i ended up leaving it run all night when i was ready to head out to the company some one had restarted the system and found no other viruses
the isp is saying that they are still spamming much less now they are down to 2 times a week instead of many time a day.
they are using windows outlook that comes with xp.
im heading out there now and will up load a copy of the spam email, and will
upload a hijack this log of each computer???
let me know if thats the best step to do at this point in time.
