Firstly I hope this is in the right forum (I am totally dense when it comes to computers) and secondly I really hope someone can help me!
My laptop was working fine on Sunday, as I was closing things down some box popped up about a Java update, so I clicked ok. I dont know if this caused the problem but that's all that seemed out of the ordinary, anyway when I tried to use it last night I kept getting a McAfee pop up message saying something about mfevtps.exe. It also wan't letting me do anything.
I've googled it and there are plenty of websites saying you can download stuff to sort it out and remove viruses etc, but the problem I have is that I can't do ANYTHING on my laptop now, I cant connect to the internet, I cant even open Windows Explorer. Is there some way I can use the cmd to manually sort this out in safe mode, without having to use the internet?
