Hello,
I believe I have some form of the Google redirect virus. It is the only symptom. No popups, computer not slow, only being redirected to different sites from Google's results. Spybot finds nothing, ran MBAM and TDSSkiller with no helpful results. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Update MBAM and run a full scan with it. Post back the report.


Please run Notepad (start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad) and copy and paste the text in the quote box into a new file:

Go to the File menu at the top of the Notepad and select Save as.
Select save in: desktop
Fill in File name: test.bat

A notepad opens, copy and paste the content it (log1.txt) to your reply.

You seem to have a router in use. Are there any other systems connected to it? If so, please see if any of those suffers redirecting.

No other computer connected to the network is being redirected. I tested again and redirection happens with Bing as well but not Yahoo.

Hi,

Could you disable your wireless connection and enable the wired one? See if redirecting happens and also run earlier test.bat while connected like that.

I tried doing searches using Google Chrome, and noticed that there was no redirect problem when using the different browser. I speculated that the problem must be with IE so I then upgraded my IE8 to IE9. Once this was done the redirect problem was gone! I am however including the files you requested (from before I updated IE) so that you can determine whether there was something on the computer (which I wouldn't want to come back).

Hi,

Has the redirect issue stayed away?

Disable Spybot's TeaTimer to make sure it won't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it later:
Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode
If it is not already set to do this, go to the Mode menu
select
Advanced Mode

On the left hand side, click on Tools
Then click on the Resident icon in the list
Uncheck
Resident TeaTimer
and OK any prompts.
Restart your computer

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:
