View Full Version : Persistent malware : Downloader.Agent.uj

When I do a scan with Ewido it detects something called Downloader.Agent.uj. Ewido is not able to quarantine or delete it. Ewido is the only offline scanner that detects this. AVG, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware and Microsoft AntiSpyware all tell me everything's fine, as does the Panda online scan.

Any help on this would be much appreciated, as it is driving me nuts. I am pending update to XP SP2, but have read that I should make sure my system is clean before I do this, is this correct or a myth?

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DMXLC.EXE

and upload them so they can be checked out:

I am pending update to XP SP2, but have read that I should make sure my system is clean before I do this, is this correct or a myth?

Have you updated Windows? (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=425)

However, you must ensure the computer is free of malware before you upgrade to Windows XP SP2 (Service Pack 2)

So how did I get infected in the first place? By Tony Klein (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=279)
