My laptop has pop-up windows telling me that I have multiple infections. I can't run anything because everytime I do, a pop-up window appears stating that the file is infected. I had to run DDS in safe mode. Here are my logs

Hi and Welcome!! :) My name is Jeff. I would be more than happy to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems you might have. Logs can take a while to research, so please be patient and know that I am working hard to get you a clean and functional system back in your hands. I'd be grateful if you would note the following:

I will be working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
Please subscribe to this topic, if you haven't already. You can subscribe by clicking the Watch Topic button to the right of your topic title and then choosing the notification method ( Recommended: Inmediate Notification)
The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for the issues on this machine.
Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

**Please be advised, as I am still in training, all my replies to you will be checked for accuracy by one of our experts to ensure that I am giving you the best possible advise, this will be a team effort. This may cause a delay, but I will do my best to keep it as short as possible. Please bear with me, I will post back to you as soon as I can.**

IMPORTANT NOTE : Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.
DO NOT use any TOOLS such as Combofix or HijackThis fixes without supervision.
Doing so could make your system inoperable and could require a full reinstall of your OS losing all your programs and data.

Vista and Windows 7 users:
These tools MUST be run from the executable (.exe) every time you run them
with Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")

Stay with this topic until I give you the all clean post.

Hi jjdsm17,

Print out these instructions as we may need to close every window that is open later in the fix.

It is possible that the infection you are trying to remove will not allow you to download files on the infected computer. If this is the case, then you will need to download the files requested in this guide on another computer and then transfer them to the infected computer. You can transfer the files via a CD/DVD, external drive, or USB flash drive.

Do not reboot your computer after running rkill as the malware programs will start again.

Please download and run the following tool to help allow other programs to run. (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com)
There are 5 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
Vista and Win7 users need to right click and choose Run as Admin
You only need to get one of them to run, not all of them.

rkill.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.exe)
rkill.com (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.com)
rkill.scr (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/rkill.scr)
WiNlOgOn.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/WiNlOgOn.exe)
uSeRiNiT.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/grinler/uSeRiNiT.exe)

Do not reboot your computer after running rkill as the malware programs will start again.

Hi jjdsm17,

Download Combofix from either of the links below, and save it to your desktop.
Link 1 (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Link 2 (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

--------------------------------------------------------------------

IMPORTANT - Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link here (http://forums.whatthetech.com/How_Disable_your_Security_Programs_t96260.html&pid=494216#entry494216)

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts. When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt for further review.

In order to get anything to run on my computer I have to boot into safe mode. When I tried to run Combo fix, I got a warning window stating it had detected Norton Internet Security -- so I uninstalled all Norton software. When I restarted my computer, and tried to run ComboFix again, I got the same warning. Sure enough, all the software that I thought I had uninstalled is back on my computer. I followed the link in your message about disabling Norton, but that didn't work because I am in safe mode. I didn't run ComboFix because of the warnings.

I think Norton is the cause of this. As soon as my subscription ran out with them and I didn't renew it, my computer gets infected.

Hi jjdsm17,

Lets get Norton off of your system. We will put another antivirus program on your system later. :) I would like for you to download the Norton Antivirus removal tool from here (ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe) and run it to remove Norton Antivirus.
----------

Now go ahead and run ComboFix. If you still receive warnings just continue on and if you need to run it in Safe Mode that is just fine as well. :)

Remember to post the log created by ComboFix into your next reply.

I ran the Norton removal tool. It seemed as though it removed Norton, but as soon I as ran ComboFix a warning popped up stating that it detected Norton Internet Security. Whatever infection I have, won't let me delete Norton. Sorry this is a pain.......

Not a problem at all. Lets not worry about Norton right now. :) Just go ahead and run ComboFix and if/when the warning for Norton still comes up continue on with the running of the program. ComboFix is just seeing some residual entries of Norton that we can remove later. Post the log created by ComboFix in your next reply.

Hi jjdsm17,

1. Close any open browsers.

2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

3. Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

DDS::
BHO: ALOT Toolbar Helper: {14ceeaff-96dd-4101-ae37-d5ecdc23c3f6} - c:\program files\alot\bin\bho\alotBHO.dll
BHO: IEHlprObj Class: {8ca5ed52-f3fb-4414-a105-2e3491156990} - c:\program files\iwin games\iWinGamesHookIE.dll
TB: Fast Browser Search Toolbar: {1bb22d38-a411-4b13-a746-c2a4f4ec7344} - c:\program files\fast browser search\ie\FBStoolbar.dll
TB: ALOT Toolbar: {5aa2ba46-9913-4dc7-9620-69ab0fa17ae7} - c:\program files\alot\bin\alot.dll

File::
c:\users\brian\AppData\Local\BIT7FAB.tmp
c:\users\brian\AppData\Local\Vrapuhayat.bin

Save this as "CFScript.txt", and as Type: All Files (*.*) in the same location as ComboFix.exe

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v666/sUBs/CFScriptB-4.gif

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe

When finished, it shall produce a log for you at C:\ComboFix.txt which I will require in your next reply.

I ran ComboFix but before I had a chance to save the log, my daughter unplugged the computer and I lost it. I am very sorry.

Hi jjdsm17,

Take a look in C:\ComboFix.txt and make sure it didn't happen to save. If it didn't, go ahead and run it again and then post that log that is created. :)

Hi jjdsm17,

Thank you for getting me that log. :)

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php) to your desktop.

Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select Perform quick scan, then click Scan as shown below.

http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee380/jeffce74/MBAM.jpg

When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location and post the results.

The log can also be found here:

Hi jjdsm17,

Great job running Malwarebytes and ESET!! :) Stick with me as we are almost finished.

I see that your Internet Explorer is out of date. To prevent possible vulnerabilities on your system you should keep this up to date. You may find the new Internet Explorer 9 to download and install here (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/products/ie/home).
----------

You have an older version of Adobe Reader. You can download the current version HERE (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html)
----------

Please download JavaRa (http://raproducts.org/click/click.php?id=1) to your desktop and unzip it to its own
folder
Run JavaRa.exe (double-click for XP/right-click and Run as Administrator for Vista), pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then
click Remove Older Versions.
Accept any prompts.
Open JavaRa.exe (double-click for XP/right-click and Run as Administrator for Vista) again and select Search For Updates.
Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button. Download and install the latest
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.
----------

Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without user's approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This may change, read Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware (http://www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=3561546). I recommend that you remove the Viewpoint products; however, decide for yourself.

It is advised that you uninstall the AskToolbar to protect your privacy and computer security and to free up necessary resources. This software is not a virus or a Trojan. It is detected as a "potentially unwanted program" (PUP). PUPs are any piece of software that a reasonably security- or privacy-minded computer user may want to be informed of and, in some cases, remove.

You may remove both of these programs, if you wish, by going to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Right-click the program > Uninstall.
----------

Please now run DDS once more and then post both the logs created into your next reply.

Hi jjdsm17,

I am glad to hear that your system is running better. :bigthumb: I notice that you still have some Java entries on your system and that you still have Internet Explorer 8. Did you run JavaRa or were there problems with running it? Having and using outdated versions of programs on your system like Internet Explorer 8 and the older versions of Java remaining on your system can cause security vulnerabilities that could make your system more likely to become infected again. Be sure to get that taken care of so your system will be secure. :)
----------

I need some information on unidentified file(s). We will use Virustotal Please submit the file(s) for analysis.

To submit a file to virustotal, please click VirusTotal (www.virustotal.com).

Copy and paste the following into the upload a file box (one at a time if more than one file is listed):

c:\windows\system32\drivers\jjksl.sys

Scroll down a bit and click "send file", wait for the results and post them in your next reply.

Please note that sometimes the scans take a few minutes. Please ensure that the scan has completed and the results are complete before submitting the next sample. Also please make sure each result is clearly identified as to which sample they belong to.

In your next reply please post the log created by VirusTotal. :)
