Couldn't Delete a File -Need Permission {3AD05575-8857-4850-9277-11B85BDB8E09}

Hello,
I'm new to here. I searched around for help and come to this forum. It seems this is a very great place to ask for help.

I started this new topic since I don't see others relate my problem.

Ok, where should I start?
Ok...it's not a big problem or anything, my laptop runs very well. But I have one problem and it very annoyed me because I couldn't delete any video file contain .mp4 format. I mean, before that I could delete it without any problem.

It just happened this week that I couldn't delete video mp4 format. My laptop is Home Vista, and I have all 3( RealPlayer v. 11; Media Classic Player v. 6.9.0.0; and Window Media Player v.10) video player run well. I just updated real player to v. 11 this week, and then found out that I couldn't delete any video file have .mp4 format. I don't know if updating realplayer causing this problem or not. If it is what should I do?

For example: I ripped a video from youtube using "Youtube Downloader" and it's in .mp4 format. After I see it and want to delete it, before I could delete just fine, it won't let me. Everytime I delete it, it asked for Permission, I clicked yes, then it said

What is that?:confused: I am totally not good with computer. I messed a little around with my laptop and I have come to find out that this something related to "real player..RealNetworks". Even I know, but what should I do with it?

yes, please would you keep it for a while? I really need help.

Whenever I try to delete .mp4 format file, it said no, it needs permission, so I clicked 'continue', then next thing it showed NO, try again, I clicked 'try again' so many times, it still won't let me delete it.:confused: I don't know it this happen, but I guess the .mp4 format is interactive with something in my laptop so it won't let me delete it. :sad:

Try deleting it in safe mode. To reach safe mode you would tap the f8 key during a computer restart, chose the first option from the list: safe mode, log into your usual account. Once at the safe mode desktop try deleting it. Reboot normally.
Do you really use Realplayer? I thought that died out a few years ago?

Thanks so much for replying this topic. I've been waiting for someone to reply. Ok, before I started, I just wanna ask if I to try delete in safe mode, then it gonna affect my laptop? I mean after I choose safe mode and if I got .mp4 file deleted, will my laptop go back to safe mode automatically?

I have both realplayer and media classic player in my laptop.

OH..MY..GOD...it really WORKED!!!! :D::cowboy:
I pressed f8 during restarting and chose 'safe mode' option. I learned that 'safe mode' is a troubleshooting with basic limited widow on safe mode. While at it, I am able to delete all .mp4 files. YEA!!!
After deleleted all, I restart my laptop and it run normal again. It cleared and have more free space now.

But when my laptop run back to normal, I still couldn't delete .mp4 file. Oh well, I will delete them in 'safe mode'. Although I couldn't figure out what causes the problem, the deleting in safe mode method works. I definitely use the method in the future. Ok your welcome. For your reference;

1) It is essential to keep your operating system (Windows) browser (IE, FireFox, Chrome, Opera) and other software up to date to "patch" vulnerabilities that could be exploited. Visit Windows Update (http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us) frequently or use the Windows auto-update feature. (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/windowsupdate/automaticupdate.mspx) Staying updated is also essential for web based applications, browser plugins and addons like Java, Adobe Flash/Reader, iTunes etc. More and more third party applications are being targeted. Use the auto-update features available in most software. Not sure if you are using the latest version of software? Check their version status and get the updates here. (http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/)

2) Know what you are installing to your computer. Alot of software can come bundled with unwanted add-ons, like adware, toolbars and malware. More and more legitimate software is installing useless toolbars if not unchecked first. Do not install any files from ads, popups or random links. Do not fall for fake warnings about virus and trojans being found on your computer and you are then prompted to install software to remedy this. See also the signs (http://www.malwarevault.com/signs.html)that you may have malware on your computer.

3) Install and keep updated: one antivirus and two or three anti-malware applications. If not updated they will soon be worthless. If either of these frequently find malware then its time to *review your computer habits*.

4) Refrain from clicking on links or attachments via E-Mail, IM, IRC, Chat Rooms, Blogs or Social Networking Sites, no matter how tempting or legitimate the message may seem. Do you trust the source? See also E-mail phishing Tricks (http://www.fraud.org/tips/internet/phishing.htm).

5) Do not click on ads/pop ups or offers from websites requesting that you need to install software to your computer--*for any reason*. Use the Alt+F4 keys to close the window.

10) Warez, cracks, keygens and p2p are very popular for carrying malware payloads. A file can be named anything, be nothing but malware or have malware bundled in it. Do you really trust the source of the file?
