I've been infected with the downloader virus, residing in mlljijg.dll. Norton AV couldn't remove it.

Norton pops up with:
Norton Antivirus has detected a virus on your computer
Object Name: c:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MLLJIJG.DLL
Virus Name: Downloader
Action Taken: Unable to repair this file
Clicked <OK>, second popup:
Object Name: Same
Virus Name: same
Action Taken: Access to the file was denied

Lavasoft Ad-Watch posts a registry modification detection:

Ran the eTrust Antivirus Web Scanner, it found a virus not found by Norton:

Since I've been infected, Internet Explorer pops up its "Encountered a problem, needs to close" window after 10-15 minutes of browser time.

Welcome to the forum

Go here and attach these files
c:\windows\system32\mlljijg.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kbd250.dll
You might need to temporaraly disable your antivirus to do so.

Lets try this first

Turn off ad-Watch

Download Pocket Killbox to the desktop (version 2.0.0.648)
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.exe
If you already have killbox ensure it is the latest version. ?
Start Killbox place a tick next to [x]Delete on reboot Press the ALL Files button
Copy this whole list into the windows clipboard, all the Bolded below.

c:\windows\system32\mlljijg.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\kbd250.dll


Back in Killbox go > file > paste from clipboard,
Click the red highlighted X button and say yes to the prompt to restart the pc.

Now check if the files were actualy deleted or are still present in the system32 folder ?

Ran Killbox twice, first time it got rid of mlljijg.dll, second time it removed kbd250.dll, but placed it in a folder called !Killbox on c:

After first run of killbox, adwatch posted one registry mod for mlljijg.dll. After second run, no more registry mod postings.

Looks like I'm almost there! Thanks for ongoing help!
