Just run spy bot as I do every week . Probably 99% of the time it picks nothing up. . But today it said I have a Trojan in the system restore short cut link on my desk top. So I removed the link by fixing it reran spybot and every thing ok. Put another short cut for microsoft system restore on desktop reran spybot and spybot said it was a problem (in red) so removed it again. Is there something wrong with spybot as I have had this link on the desk top ever since I have had the computer. Or will there be a problem with the link even though the old one gets removed and I make a new one. Any one please help.

Kind Regards

Hello manderley3,

The description given sounds like the false positive reported and confirmed here (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=64288) If not please provide more details. How to report possible False Positives (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=19117)

On your computers you will not find other parts of the Trojan horse since it is not there. Your desktop link gets detected falsely because of its name.

Our detection rules will be adjusted with the next update scheduled for Wednesday 2011-11-09.
Until then you can have Spybot S&D 'Exclude this detection from further searches' by right clicking this item in the scan result.

Best regards. :)

This false positive thing-a-me-jig sounds exactly like my problem. I will see how it goes after your next update at November 9th 2011.

Kind Regards and thank you
