The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Fraud.SecurityDefender" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Fraud.SecurityDefender is a Trojan horse that gets promoted via spam emails. The sites linked in the spam mails shows false detection warnings. Fraud.SecurityDefender tries to trick the user into downloading its installer and install it to continue the false detection warnings and make the user pay for useless software.
Removal Instructions:

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

The file at "<$APPDATA>\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Security Defender.lnk".
The file at "<$APPDATA>\Security Defender\{E8B48843-AA03-48A6-1AAE-876C3E1E89A6}.pst".
The file at "<$APPDATA>\Security Defender\{EFFF3370-D028-42A2-C9A7-ED3CADDB10C0}.pst".
The file at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Security Defender\Security Defender.lnk".
The file at "<$DESKTOP>\Security Defender.lnk".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Security Defender\Security Defender.dll".
The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Security Defender\Security Defender.ico".
The file at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Defender\Security Defender.lnk".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.SecurityDefender uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

The directory at "<$APPDATA>\Security Defender".
The directory at "<$COMMONPROGRAMS>\Security Defender".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Security Defender".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\Security Defender".

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{BD48C5BE-A151-A177-E0C5-B216293C75A9}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
Delete the registry key "{BD48C5BE-A151-A177-E0C5-B216293C75A9}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\".
If Fraud.SecurityDefender uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).

There are more registry entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.
