With Spybot S&D 1.4, updated to the data normal & beta files for 2006-07-28 I suddenly get the new messages "

Not aware of having installed anything.
Cannot find anything on this forum or the FAQs or the internet for Spyware cleaner and the registry entries except they are on a polish site which I cannot translate.

Where can I find out more about this and in particular if I should delete these entries.

Hello.

Please update to the 08-04-06 definitions and let us know if you still receive that message.

Thank you. :)

Right! Clicked on "Update" -> "Search for Updates".
Back came the answer "No Newer Updates Available".
Clicked on "Help" -> "About" and the data files were already at the 2006-08-04 version?
Ran "S&D" -> "Check for Problems" and did NOT get the message.

Presume the registry key is part of some other program's detection mechanism. (Also running McAfee 10, PestPatrol (free), Spywareblaster, A2, AdAware SE Personal on the XP Sp2 machine.

Thank you for your help.

hi,
I have checked the detection rules on this result.
It is a false positive which will be removed with the updated sceduled for the end of the week.

UserAssist entries are more or less just standard usagetracks from the Windows Explorer and they usually get cleaned up by windows itself, that is why the entries have not been flagged in the second scan.
