Hi,
Numerous MediaMonkey 4.0 users are reporting that the latest build/definition of SS&D is giving a warning that: "Filename: MediaMonkeyVHelper.exe" is "Identified as: Win32.Polipos.kl."
See the reports at: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=62151
Prior to release (and again today) MediaMonkey is scanned by MS Security Essentials, eSet Online Scanner, and Panda Security Activescan. In addition, both Download.com and Softpedia scan the app using a number of engines. None of these have revealed any problems.
The version of the software being scanned is: MediaMonkey_4.0.0.1459.exe (MD5: e82ff15bf4194b7e90a819c233858fdf), available at:
http://www.mediamonkey.com/MediaMonkey_Setup.exe
Can you confirm that this is a false positive and update the virus definition files if appropriate?
Thanks.
Rusty
