Thanks for returning you information, there is still junk in your HJT log that needs to go. I am interested in what program is reporting command.exe. I would also like to look at the the results of a ewido scan. If you have the time to make sure the computer is in good shape, then do this.

How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL =
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = about:blank
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://as.starware.com/dp/search?x=w...xOFg/V1iBOJCk=
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mdc] C:\sdkhj.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin]
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbar...p=ZCxdm238YYGB

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\sdkhj.exe <<< delete that file

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log along with any comments you think will help.

Once you have posted that log, then follow the directions you need to here:
First download ewido anti-spyware from HERE (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/) and save that file to your desktop.
This is a 30 day trial of the program
Once you have downloaded ewido anti-spyware, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
Once the setup is complete you will need run ewido and update the definition files.
On the main screen select the icon "Update" then select the "Update now" link.
Next select the "Start Update" button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.

Once the update has completed select the "Scanner" icon at the top of the screen, then select the "Settings" tab.
Once in the Settings screen click on "Recommended actions" and then select "Quarantine".
Under "Reports"
Select "Automatically generate report after every scan"
Un-Select "Only if threats were found"

Close ewido anti-spyware, Do Not run a scan just yet, we will shortly.
Reboot your computer into SafeMode. You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.
IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while ewido is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning proccess:
Lauch ewido-anti-spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
ewido will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
Close ewido and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the results of the ewido report scan.

Post the scan report as soon as you have it.

Thanks...Phil

i am really finding it hard to locate the c:\sdkhj.exe file, should i carry on without deleting it?

pskelley
2006-08-12, 22:31
Yes...often another tool will get, good chance HJT removed it. If it did not we will be going back to find it. Make sure all files and folders are unhidden and then ask Start > Search (Search Companion) > all files and folders to look for you. Be patient, sometimes it takes a while for the search to complete. If Search Companion can not locate it, then it is probably gone. Our objective is to be 100% sure of that.

Thanks...Phil

That item is gone, but these are still there:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin] and this one
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbar...p=ZCxdm238YYGB
Try HJT again on it and if it is still there, then do a search for "MyWebSearch" and delete anything you find.

I am interested in what program is reporting command.exe. <<< please provide this information.

Post a new HJT log once those two items above are gone and let me see the ewido scan results. If all is clean, you will be good to go.

Thanks

I have no idea what this is: blueyonder pc guard which is anti virus and anti spyware. You will have to provide me with more information. Exactly what does it say it is finding and where does it say it is. Please make sure Spybot S&D is updated and run it. Let me know if it locates the item. As you can see, it is not in the ewido scan report and it is not in the HJT log. What other symptoms are you experiencing beside the fact that your program says something is there.

I need more to work with...Thanks

Please read the instructions carefully, I requested:

Please make sure Spybot S&D is updated and run it. Let me know if it locates the item.

I asked this: What other symptoms are you experiencing beside the fact that your program says something is there.

You said this:
also just wondering everytime i start my computer i have my usual start up but i also get a window open called system 32, ive looked at my start up and it not on there so is that a problem aswell? This does not tell me anything at all, please give me word for word everything that you see. A windows called system 32 means nothing.

I requested that you remove these items with HJT or search for MyWebSearch and delete anything you find.
Both items are still in the log, you have to be aware of that:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MyWebSearch Email Plugin]
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbar...p=ZCxdm238YYGB

Did you reboot after you use HJT to delete them? They are not major malware but they normally remove very easily, so something is creating a problem. It may be ewido:
From within Ewido -
Under 'Your security status', if the real time protection is active, deactivate it by clicking 'real time protection' until the status says 'inactive'.

But ewido rarely causes this problem, so it is probably this one: C:\Program Files\blueyonder\PCguard\RPS.exe so turn it off until you remove those two lines. Remove them in safe mode if you have to.

You need to concentrate and follow the directions, we have been fooling with these issues for far too long. I would like to do this for you, unfortunately, I can not.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback, that's a clean log this morning. I can't comment on that program you are running, having no knowledge of it. The MyWebSearch items were probably causing the System32 error message.
Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
