Hello, this is my first post ever. I have been using Spybot for a few years on my 64-bit Windows 7 with no problem; however, on my 32-bit, it crashes the OS while its scan is 75% complete. The computer does not shut off; I must force-reboot it each time. I suspected it has to do with memory usage, so as I type this, I have a Spybot 1.6.2 scan, a Comodo Security Scan, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook running, but the physical memory usage is only at 60%, so I'm confused as to how Spybot alone can cause a memory problem.

Hello,

:welcome:

Does this also happen if you run only the Spybot-S&D scan?
I would recommend to close the Comodo Security Scan, Internet Explorer and Microsoft Outlook during the scan with Spybot-S&D.

Best regards

The point of running the other programs was to see if the CPU would crash due to a memory overload, but even with the other programs, the CPU was only at 60%, therefore the Spybot issue is NOT due to memory usage. If I run a Spybot scan, even with no other major processes running, the OS will still always crash.
