iworm_attck_v122.02a plus some spyware

ok i narrowed the whole i worm attack v122.02a because of the yellow triangle alert symbol that told me what kind of virus is was, well i did some stuff on my own and managed to get my internet back online because if didnt work at all.. my home page kept changing to alert safty pages and there were online casino pop ups and porn sites pop ups that my wife really enjoyed when she tried to get on, this virus is really causeing me problems let me tell you, please help me.

Welcome to Safer Networking Forums :)

* Click here (http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/files/HJTsetup.exe) to download HJTsetup.exe
Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Please download, install, and update Ewido anti-spyware (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/)

Load Ewido and then click the Update tab at the top. Under Manual Update click Start update.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")

Click on the Scanner tab at the top and then click on Complete System Scan. This scan can take quite a while to run, so be prepared.
Ewido will list any infections found on the left hand side. When the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action. Click the Apply all actions button. Ewido will display "All actions have been applied" on the right hand side.
Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As". This will create a text file. Make sure you know where to find this file again (like on the Desktop).


In your reply, please post the report from Ewido and a new HijackThis log. Please also let me know how your computer is running now, and if the wife has calmed down a bit. :)

hey tea...

My computer is running slower than normal, and to get onto the internet i have to unplug the cable, power and computer connector from the router and computer, restart the computer and then plug it back in before i can get on, but once im on it seems like everything is ok it just runs a little slower...

my wife has calmed down a bit, she realizes that its a virus and i have no control of it, thank u for asking....im running ewido now and will post logs shortly.

Hello,

How is it running? Baddies gone? I'd like for you to navigate to the following and make sure it's gone:

C:\Documents and Settings\HP_Administrator\Application Data\winantispyware2006freeinstall[1].exe

You may have to view hidden files and folders to get there:

enable viewing of hidden files as follows:
1) Go to My Computer, and click on the "Tools" menu
2) Click "Folder options"
3) Select the "View" tab
4) Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected
5) Make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked
6) Make sure "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" is unchecked.

Make sure you rehide them when you're finished.

Click Start Menu > Run > type (or copy and paste)

%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe

Press OK. Choose Create a Restore Point then click Next. Name it ( something you'll remember) and click Create, when the confirmation screen shows the restore point has been created click Close.

Next goto Start Menu > Run > type

cleanmgr

Click OK, Disk Cleanup will open and start calculating the amount of space that can be freed, Once thats finished it will open the Disk Cleanup options screen, click the More Options tab then click Clean up on the system restore area and choose Yes at the confirmation window which will remove all the restore points except the one we just created.

To close Disk Cleanup and remove the Temporary Internet Files detected in the initial scan click OK then choose Yes on the confirmation window.

ok i did that and ran ewido scan again and it found another 24 infections compared to the first like 6 it found ..schould i be worried or do we still have more steps left..????
