Interesting incident on Toshiba laptop

Toshiba laptop running VISTA

My wife's laptop just did a very curious thing. She was on google checking out a web site when all of a sudden windows explorer started popping up window after window after window and it would not stop.

I shut down the machine and rebooted into safe mode. Ran spybot S&D and it found nothing. Ran avast anti-virus (free version) and it found nothing.

I re-booted the system back into regular mode, launched internet explorer and it is now acting normally.

I downloaded erunt and launched, however it would not create any files. I am not sure if this is some kind of VISTA security thing or what.

I downloaded and ran DDS and it did create the two files. If you want I can attach on the next post but I figured I would wait until you can tell me if I need to do something concerning erunt.
