Hi,
Suddenly last night when I went to change my screensaver, I got a spybot window showing:
...has detected an important registry entry that has been changed.
category: desktop settings
change: value changed
entry:scrnsave.exe
old data: C:\Windows\system32\msnphoto.scr
new data: C:\Windows\system32\bubbles.scr

I've twice told it to allow change and remember this decision, but no screensaver will run.
What's this about?

Thanks

Hello,

Please read this information (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/33.html) about TeaTimer.
And this (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/34.html).
If you surf the web and without any user interaction the TeaTimer pops up and warns about a registry change it is better to "deny", but if you install something by yourself it is OK to "allow" the change.
The tutorial (point 8) (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/tutorial/index.html) on our homepage should also help explaining.

If you have scanned and fixed items with Spybot you have to allow the registry change that the Resident TeaTimer is asking for.
Only then the items will be deleted completely.

To undo your changes you can switch to "automatically allow" or "automatically deny" a registry change when the pop-up window of the TeaTimer appears.
In order to do this you can tick the checkmark for "remember this decision".
Then TeaTimer will be acting automatically on this particular change without asking.

If you do not like the resident TeaTimer you can disable it as follows:
- Go into Spybot - Mode - Advanced Mode - Tools - Resident.
- Uncheck the following: Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) Active.

Best regards
Sandra
