Hi all. Got a malware infection. My anti-virus caught it and removed it, I downloaded Malware Bytes to get rid of the rest. Lots of menus, icons missing.
Manually unhid lots of directories. Still didn't see icons, and all programs listed in start menu were "empty." Ran Spybot, followed prompt to delete temp files.
Started looking at malware-recovery forums. Ran unhide. No improvement.
From what I'm reading I probably dashed my own road to recovery.
Anything worth trying at this point? And if not, how can I manually re-associate the exe's with the program links in my start menu?
