Maybe I'm posting this in the wrong thread, but lately whenever I try to update Spybot, I get an error message from Windows that says the update could not be downloaded and the system has shut SB down. :confused:I have the option of sending a report to Windows, for whatever that's worth.
A little background: a few weeks ago, I got a nasty piece of malware called System Check on my laptop. I ran SB and Malware Bytes, and I think I've gotten rid of it, but within this past week, I've been getting messages from my anti-virus program that there is some kind of rootkit bug on the laptop. I follow the advice given by Avast!, but I'm not sure if I've completely gotten rid of whatever malware is still on the laptop. I've also noticed an issue with Amazon's downloader since this System Check got on my laptop.
Anyway, how do I know that I've got all the malware off my laptop? And how do I resolve this issue with downloading Spybot updates?
