• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

W3i.IQ5.fraud and administrator

Hi
Have just run Spybot and shows me I have W3i.IQ5.fraud.
When I try to fix the problems it tells me it may not work as I am nt an administrator.
I am using Windows 7. If I go to start, programme and left click spy bot, "run as administrator" is not there. If I go to profiles in Windows, it shows I am already logged in as administrator.
Am I missing something here? I cant seem to get rid of this and am a bit concerned.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rob

Hi. :)
You need to rightclick Spybot, left clicking it will just start the program:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/42.html
Also, when attempting to run Spybot as admin from the start menu, make sure it isn't the Spybot folder you're rightclicking on.You have to click on Spybot(with the folder icon beside it),then when that opens, rightclick on Spybot to see the run as administrator option.
Or,if you have a Spybot icon on your desktop, you might find it easier to rightclick that and select Run as Administrator.
