Hello patioco,

Which version of Spybot-S&D did you install, the beta or 1.6.2?

After you ran the scan was any malware removed. Also what is the operating system please and do you have other security software installed. :)

To clarify, the computer crashed after the scan or when you re-booted? :)

Hello patioco,

Malware may cause issues when being removed however it can be difficult to establish the definitive cause and effect for blue screens.

For instance a search shows instances of Norton 360 and blue screens on Win7.

Example: http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/214814-word-wise-norton-360-bsod-earlier-error-5013-3-a.html (http://www.sevenforums.com/system-security/214814-word-wise-norton-360-bsod-earlier-error-5013-3-a.html)

Norton 360 must not be doing its job
Is the license current, was the program updating?

Also is this a 32 or 64 bit computer and which version of Win7 do you have.

Windows Vista 64 bit. Norton 360 is up to date and current license expires 69 days.

Hello patioco,

Could you provide the BSOD error please, it should appear on the screen unless system is set to reboot on system failure.

In which case one can temporarily disable automatic restart.
