Was stupid, downloaded crappy software (hotspotshield) uninstalled it, but now my computer is running very slowly. Will this help? Can I use it on my MAC?

Sorry but Mac OS/Mac OS X is not supported. Have you updated your MAC recently, see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5244
