Spybot Stops And Won't Complete Full Scan

Hello, I was asked to post this here, so I hope I am doing this right.

Problem: Spybot will not complete a full scan. It stops on "win32.sober". I've tried leaving it overnight but when I returned it was still stuck there. I restarted into safe mode and tried the scan, but the exact same thing happened. I am having trouble navigating web pages, some times I will be taken to somewhere else (like an advertising page) rather than what I clicked on.

Note: I completed a Hijack This scan, but could not complete any of the online scans. They either stop, freeze, or close the browser. I was able to get most of the way through a bit defender scan and it found the following:

Adware.lectr
Trojan.downloader.MediaMotor.c

I was able to complete a scan with Norton Antivirus but it found nothing.

That was a comment to another member who posted in your thread.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe
Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.

Please disable SpybotSD TeaTimer for now
To disable SpybotSD TeaTimer:
Open Spybot and click on Mode and check Advanced Mode
Check yes to next window.
Click on Tools in bottom left hand corner.
Click on Resident icon and Uncheck the box next to Teatimer.

Close SpyBot.
We will remind you to turn it on later

Run fixwareout again, same instructions, after the reboot post its log and another hijackthis log please.

Copy these instructions into a text document for later referance
Download Pocket Killbox to the desktop (version 2.0.0.648)
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.exe
Download fixwareout but dont run it yet, link below.
If you already have killbox ensure it is the latest version. ?
Start Killbox place a tick next to "end explorer shell while killing files"
lower down near where its says "system proccess" use the drop down (arrow) to
select iexplore (internet explorer) and press the yellow icon to end that proccess.
Copy this whole list into the windows clipboard, all the Bolded below.

Back in Killbox go > file > paste from clipboard,

Before doing this write down all the settings, Note that not all system/setups even have these settings, While some connection service's will require them.
In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
Do that for every conntection listed.


Post back with another hijackthis log after using the pc for a few days please.

The file didn't come up in Hijack this or Killbox once I rebooted. Is it safe to assume all dm*.exe files are bad? What are they exactly?

Part of the file name are random, will have a differant name each time the pc is restarted

I see you've turned tea timer back on, that can couse the 04 to show again depending on what you told tea timer to do. I suggest you turn it off again for now.
