Posted incorrectly the first time guys forgive me...I was under the assumption that a DDS log was what Spybot and Malwarebytes was showing after they finish....Here's the right ones!!DDS was ran with computer booted normally. Computer freezes up with a funny noise. Boots fine until you open the internet then freezes again. Running in safe mode with networking until further instructed otherwise.

Hello smokeyDbear :),

Welcome to Safer Networking. I am Jack&Jill, and I will be helping you out.

Before we go further, there are a few things that I would like to make clear so that we are share the same understanding.

Please observe and follow these Forum Rules (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288).
Any advice is for your computer only and is taken at your own risk. Fixes sometimes will cause unexpected results, but I will do my best to assist you.
Please read the instructions carefully and follow them closely, in the order they are presented to you.
If you have any doubts or problems during the fix, please stop and ask.
All the tools that I will ask you to download and use are safe. Please allow if prompted by any of your security softwares.
Do not use or run any malware cleaning tools without supervision as they may cause more harm if improperly used.
Refrain from installing any new programs except those that I request during the fix to prevent interference to my diagnosis of the problem.
Lack of malware symptoms does not mean your computer is clean. Stick to this topic until I give the All Clear.
If you do not reply within 3 days, this topic will be closed.
If you are agreeable to the above, then everything should go smoothly :) . We may begin.

--------------------

You are running more than one Antivirus (AV) softwares:

avast! Free Antivirus
Norton Internet Security

Although AV is essential for keeping your computer free from viruses, having more than one AV will do more harm than protect your computer. They will not only conflict, but will slow down your computer as well. Did you pay for either one of them? Please keep the paid AV and uninstall the other. Otherwise, you will need to choose in accordance to your preference.

The same principle applies for antispyware where both avast and Norton have this capability. Add Windows Defender into the fray, and you know what I mean.

Having more does not mean it is better.

--------------------

Please uninstall:
Ask Toolbar
MP3 Rocket
MP3 Rocket Toolbar Updater

--------------------

You have Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM) on your machine. I wish to take a look at the most recent log file. Open MBAM and click on the Logs tab. Open the file at the bottom of the list and post the contents back here. If there is no log or you have yet to run MBAM, please let me know.

--------------------

Scan with RogueKiller

Please download RogueKiller© by Tigzy and save it to your desktop. Click here. (www.sur-la-toile.com/RogueKiller/RogueKiller.exe)
Allow the download if prompted by your security software and please close all your programs.
Double click on RogueKiller.exe to run it. If it does not run, please try a few times.
Wait for PreScan to finish, then click on Scan.
Once completed, a log called RKreport[1].txt will be created on the desktop. It can also be accessed via the Report button.
Please copy and paste the contents of that log in your next reply.
--------------------

Please download MiniToolBox© by farbar and save it to your desktop. Click here. (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/farbar/MiniToolBox.exe)

Double click on MiniToolBox.exe to run it.
Please check (tick) the following options:
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List last 10 Event Viewer Errors
List Installed Programs
List devices, and select Only Problems, No Driver or All
List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
List Minidump Files
Click on the GO button. A log will open.
Please post the contents of this log. It can also be found on the desktop as Result.txt.
--------------------

Please post back:
1. previous MBAM log
2. RogueKiller log
3. MiniToolBox result

Hello smokeyDbear :),

This may not be a malware issue. We will take a look deeper, and if it is not malware related, I may need to point you to other forums that deal with hardware/software problems.

Do an online scan with ESET Online Scanner.
Please be patient as scanning will take quite some time. If you have problem running the scan, you might want to disable any real time protection that you have.

Click here (http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/) to go to ESET Online Scanner page.
Click on Run ESET Online Scanner. A new window will open.
For FireFox user, you will need to download and install esetsmartinstaller_enu.exe. Click on it and save the file to a convenient location. Double click on it to install and a new window will open.
After reading through the Terms of Use, check YES, I accept the Terms of Use and click Start to begin scan.
You will be prompted to install an ActiveX Control from ESET. Please install.
At the Computer scan settings section, uncheck (untick) Remove found threats. <-- Important, do not remove anything yet.
Then, check Scan archives.
Now, click on Advanced settings and make sure all these are checked:
Scan for potentially unwanted applications
Scan for potentially unsafe applications
Enable Anti-Stealth technology
Click on Scan to proceed.
When done, the scan result will be shown. Look for C:\Program Files\ESET\ESET Online Scanner\log.txt and open the file.
Post the contents in your reply.
If the contents of log.txt do not reflect what is shown in the result window, click on List of found threats, then Export to text file..., save a file and post that instead.

--------------------

Please download Farbar Service Scanner© by farbar and save it to your desktop. Click here. (download.bleepingcomputer.com/farbar/FSS.exe)

Double click on FSS.exe to run it.
Check (tick) all options:
Internet Services
Windows Firewall
System Restore
Security Center
Windows Update

Click on the Scan button. A log will open.
Please post the contents of this log. It can also be found on the desktop as FSS.txt.
--------------------

Check your hard disk for error

Go to Start > Run.... Copy and paste the following text into the white box:

cmd /c chkdsk c: |find /v "percent" >> "%userprofile%\desktop\checkhd.txt"
Click OK. A command prompt window will appear for a while. Please wait until it closes.
Post the contents of checkhd.txt. It is found on your desktop.
--------------------

Check for device/driver conflict

To access the Device Manager, go to Start > Run.... Copy and paste the following text into the white box:

devmgmt.msc
Click OK. The Device Manager dialog will open.
Look through the list of devices and see if there is any symbol that indicates a problem according to this Microsoft article; Troubleshooting Device Conflicts with Device Manager (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;Q310126&ID=KB;EN-US;Q310126).
If you spot any, please note down all the information. You may need to right click on the item and select Properties.
Please include any findings in your reply.
--------------------

Please post back:
1. ESET log
2. FSS log
3. chkdsk result
4. outcome of Device Manager investigation

I don't know if the sufficient privileges is correct because I am running under the only User for the laptop and it is the Admin also!

The Devices all appear to be running properly also...Atleast there are not any of the icons mentioned showing under any of the sub-branches. And after R-clicking each one the properties all say this device is running properly.

Hello smokeyDbear :),

Chkdsk with a batch file

Open Notepad. Copy and paste the following text into it:

@echo off
chkdsk c: |find /v "percent" >> "%userprofile%\desktop\checkhd.txt"
del %0
Save it as chkdsk.bat at the desktop. Make sure the Save as type: is All Files (*.*).
Right click on chkdsk.bat and select Run as administrator. Allow if prompted by any security software.
Wait until the command window closes and post the contents of checkhd.txt, found on your desktop.

--------------------

Please post back:
1. chkdsk result

Hello smokeyDbear :),

The freezing, does that happen only when you try to go online? Are there any other symptoms?

Nothing obvious standing out to me.

Run FSS again and copy and paste Rtlihvs* into the Search box. Click Search Files and then post back the results when the log appears.

I want you to try this as well:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc735960%28v=ws.10%29.aspx

If we make no progress after this, I will point you to a more appropriate forum which deals with software / hardware issues.

Please post back:
1. the answers to my questions
2. FSS search result
3. progress from the article
