I've got a problem with popups. I posted a hijack log several weeks ago, but the owner of the computer was out for a week. So here is a fresh HijackThis log, after following the steps posted in "Before you post."

Hi
Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop.
1. Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
2. Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
3. You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
4. When VundoFix re-opens - Click the "Scan for Vundo" button.
5. Once it's done scanning, click the "Remove Vundo" button.
6. You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click "YES".
7. Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
8. When completed, VundoFix will prompt that it will shutdown your computer; click "OK".
9. Turn your computer back on.
10. Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Try this :-
1. Please download VirtumundoBegone, and save it to your desktop.
http://secured2k.home.comcast.net/tools/VirtumundoBeGone.exe
2. Double-click on VirtumundoBeGone.exe and follow the instructions.
Do not worry if you see a BLUE SCREEN "Fatal Error" Message, it is normal and expected.
3. When the process finishes, reboot.
4. Post the contents of the VBG.TXT file, which you will find on your desktop

Please also...
Go to Control Panel > Add/remove programs and uninstall SysProtect
Then...
Disconnect from the internet Close ALL browser windows (including this one) - run hijackthis and tick to fix (check the box next to) the list below.........when all are ticked (checked) click the Fix Checked button at the bottom. :-

You are also running an out-of-date version of java
You can go here and install the latest version of Java.
http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
Then go to add/remove programs and uninstall any earlier versions ...
Running an out-of-date version of java is an infection risk.

I ran vundoBeGone with the same result: no virus. Here's the log:

I ran it in safemode, with no networking and things were very strange. The startbar and desktop kept disappearing. To run anything, I had to do it through taskmanager. I also went to update the java and it got stuck.
I did get rid of the final rements of SysProtect.

Thanks to everyone for looking at these issues.
I finally found a Vundo remover that did the trick at the Lavasoft beta testers site. In the log, it says the infected files are missing. Do I need to fix them in Hijackthis? Or is that entry meanless? Here is the final Hijackthis log:
