View Full Version : Tracking Cookie List and other
I`ve created tracking cookie list (some of cookies are not tracking cookies.).
Can you please administrators (or other members) look at the tracking cookie list and reply with answer which cookies are tracking.
(It likes that this thread will be moved.)
Other things:
I`ve found Message Mates source named stress.exe.
Now I know that is Message Mates is sending strange messages (with luck, removed.:) ) to me.
And I just hope that you will find tracking cookies.

Before you read the following, I understand that there may be a language problem (barrier) between you and I. If there is anything that you do not understand, please feel free to ask and I will attempt to explain it in simpler language.
*******************
Without going through a list of 135 cookies and try to pick out tracking cookies for you (see Note#1), I have a suggestion.
By definition tracking cookies are cookies stored on your computer by a third (3rd) party not directly related to the web site you're currently viewing. The intention of tracking cookies is to track your movement as you surf between sites.
You can block third party cookies from being stored on your system from within your browser. See the following article (see Note #2 below concerning Firefox):
Why do other anti-spyware applications detect so many more tracking cookies?
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=faq&detail=37
I suggest that you set your browser(s) to block third party cookies then delete all the cookies in your list that you do not have a specific reason to keep.
That way you can resolve any tracking cookie problem that you think you may have without waiting for someone to go through a list of 135 cookies and try to pick out tracking cookies for you.
Note #1: I would have an extremely difficult time identifying tracking cookies because I have not encountered any cookies identified as tracking cookies by any scanner that I have used in years, except:
When I have intentionally stored one to test something.
A bleepingcomputer.com cookie that a-squared was falsely identifying as a tracking cookie due to a problem in the parsing routine in their cookie scanner which was eventually fixed.
Note #2: It appears that some third-party cookies may not be blocked in Firefox by setting the options in the referenced article. Please see the comments by Zenobia (http://forums.spybot.info/member.php?u=145) in last post of the following thread:

I`m using Internet Explorer 5.
But there is not `Privacy`.
Is cookie:korisnik @ porn-tour.com a tracking cookie (to me likes tracking.)?
And I`ve found error in S&D 1.3 (maybe 1.4).

Tom.K:
PLEASE stick to one subject at a time!
I don't think that we have resolved the issue with installing Spybot 1.4 here:
Installing SpyBot-Search & Destroy 1.4
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=6094
In this thread you appear to have a cookie issue. I suggest that you block all third party cookies and you inform me that you can't because your system is running an old version of Windows Internet Explorer.
Instead of trying to resolve those issues it appears now that you are off in another direction and a playing with a Spybot "Advanced mode" feature "System Internals".
I believe that you stated somewhere that you were running Windows ME. If that is true, I suggest:
That you upgrade Internet Explorer to version 6 (it should work under Windows ME).
You upgrade Spybot to version 1.4 (again, it should work under Windows ME).
If your purpose for using Spybot is to protect your system from malware, then the first step is to upgrade your software to the latest versions of the software possible under your Windows OS, which in itself will prevent a lot of malware being download/stored on your system.
Good News!
I`ve downloaded Setup SpyBot-Search & Destroy 1.4 from BN File forum.
And I`m using Windows ME.;)

I know about Internet Explorer 6.0,but how to install ?:fear:
Tom.K:
Internet Explorer 6.0:
See the following Article:
Internet Explorer 6 Home (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/default.mspx)
Under "Other Windows Versions" clicking on the following item:
Install Internet Explorer 6 SP1 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.mspx)
That brings up:
Download Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.mspx)
Then clicking the following item under "Download Internet Explorer 6 SP1":
Download Center (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&DisplayLang=en)
Gets:
Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&DisplayLang=en)
Finally click the Download (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/info.aspx?na=90&p=&SrcDisplayLang=en&SrcCategoryId=&SrcFamilyId=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&u=http%3a%2f%2fdownload.microsoft.com%2fdownload%2fie6sp1%2ffinrel%2f6_sp1%2fW98NT42KMeXP%2fEN-US%2fie6setup.exe) button.
There is a reason that I did not just give you a direct link to a download. That is because I think that you should read the links above and work your on way through them. Since Internet Explorer 6 was released several years ago and you indicate that you are still running Internet Explorer 5 (actually I believe that Internet Explorer 5.5 was included with Windows ME), I am concerned about the update status of your Windows ME system itself. If Internet Explorer was not maintained on your system, I am not sure if the Windows ME system itself was. So I can not be sure of a specific level of Windows ME updates that may be required to support Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1.
Is IE 5 must be uninstalled before installing IE 6?
Have you using manual or microsoft update?
And I`ve found strange ActiveX file.

May I take this list to add it to my cookie manager soft? It'll have an option to display in red the tracking cookies. This list'd help me.
:thanks: in advance
If you don't answer, I'll add it anyway, that's just to notify u.
But I'll add your credit. ;)
