Head scratcher

I have a real head scratcher of a problem. Desktop computer of a friend had connection problem which I attempted to fix for him. Could not figure out why the browser won't work - until I ran spybot and found a ton of spyware. I cleaned it up, ran it in normal mode and safe mode.

Still can't get the browser to work, but I can ping the internet provider just fine (road runner).

Can someone look at this log file and see if the spyware has damaged the browser.

I didnt notice that in the log, I don't think syantec security is even installed, didnt see it in the start menu, or the tray. I will look in add/remove programs. the firewall is Avast. the only browser is IE and it does not work, but Avast antivirus wont update, Spybot won't update, and outlook express won't download mail, none of these programs can connect. but the network card does see the internet provider. I did uninstall the network card drivers and reinstall them, but no change.

Did you get symantec uninstalled ?
Avast doesnt have a firewall, you.we can find one later .
