Several problems includes ad-w-a-r-e.com, drivecleaner, and error safe

i have a lot of problems including:

1: Ad-w-a-r-e.com, drivecleaner and errorsafe.com randomly opening up web browsers.
2: on startup i get the message: RUNDLL: error loading W0d52a01.dll
3: I cannot open regedit: Error message: 16 Bit MS-DOS Subsystem, c\windows\system32\regedit.com, C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MSDOS and Microsoft Windows applications.
4: Computer generally slow on startup. I seem to always be running lots of processes at the same time, not sure if they are all needed.

I couldn't get panda scan to work, bit defender scanned but stalled halfway through, but by that point had found 7 problems, 1 was a virus. a etrust scan showed up no problems. I am currently running a windows live onecare online to scan to see if that shows up anything. Norton antivirus shows up problems but sometimes cannot delete all, including adware.180search and adware.UCMore.

Welcome to the forum. kirsty, you have a real mess here! If you still need help I will give it a try if you will follow directions. Start by keeping the computer offline as much as possible, this junk will attract more.

1) Download this: http://www.funkytoad.com/hoster.htm Once you have it, click on Restore Microsoft's Original Hosts file.

Thanks to Atribune and anyone who helped with the fix.

2) Please download Look2Me-Destroyer.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=7) to your desktop.
Close all windows before continuing.
Double-click Look2Me-Destroyer.exe to run it.
Put a check next to Run this program as a task.
You will receive a message saying Look2Me-Destroyer will close and re-open in approximately 10 seconds. Click OK
When Look2Me-Destroyer re-opens, click the Scan for L2M button, your desktop icons will disappear, this is normal.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove L2M button.
You will receive a Done Scanning message, click OK.
When completed, you will receive this message: Done removing infected files! Look2Me-Destroyer will now shutdown your computer, click OK.
Your computer will then shutdown.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

If Look2Me-Destroyer does not reopen automatically, reboot and try again.

If you receive a message from your firewall about this program accessing the internet please allow it.

If you receive a runtime error '339' please download MSWINSCK.OCX from the link below and place it in your C:\Windows\System32 Directory.

If for some reason Look2Me-Destroyer doesn't reopen check that task scheduler is running.
If it isnt you can use sc.exe to start it

start>run sc start schedule press enter.

Post the two logs: C:\Look2Me-Destroyer.txt and a newHiJackThis log and any comments you think will help. We will have more to do.

Let's get rid of this malware, then I will do my best to answer questions for you.
It seems a tool you ran has removed much of the balance of the infection (Alcan worm) If System Mechanic was the tool, it did a fair job. I am not familiar with System Mechanic and it may block the changes we still need to make. I suggest you make sure you are offline and turn it off until you finish.

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT log. How is the computer running now?

For your benefit, I looked to see and I am running 33 processes. 40 may be fine, but you also may be running stuff you only need once in a while. Look at the running processes and see what is running you do not use but on occasion, that could be started in All Programs when you did need it. System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
