When I update and then proceed to immunize, I get a message saying that I am "not" the administrator. But, I am the administrator!

It only updates under my user not all users leaving some issues not fixed.

Please advise!

Hello achasse001,

"On Windows Vista and Windows 7, Spybot-S&D might tell you that you are not authorized to perform some actions, since they require Administrator rights. You can solve this problem as follows:

1. Right-click the Spybot - Search & Destroy entry in your start menu, instead of just left-clicking to start it.
2. Choose Run as administrator from the context menu."

Run as Administrator (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=55946)

You just have to run Spybot-S&D on one user account in order to destroy all the bad threats. The best for this would be the administrator account. In order to destroy single user specific threats like cookies you have to run Spybot on each account.

Hope that helps. :)

Thank you for your response.

I did what you said by right clicking on "run as admin" in my startup menu, and I am no longer msged that I don't have Admin rights, however, I still have the same amount of "unprotected " as before. The numbers don't change.

I also uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of SB but received the same amount of unprotected files.

unprotected: 15000
protected: 3000
total: 18000

Please advise.
Thanks

Hello achasse001,

Please open Spybot Search & Destroy > Help > About and let us know the version and the date of last definitions. Also the operating system.

Best regards, :)

Hi there,

Do you close the browser so immunization isn't trying to alter a file currently in use?

Best regards.

Yes, it also prompts me to close it if there is one open.

Hello,

Did you try to undo the immunization and then immunize again?
Have you also used the "Check again" function from the menu bar above?
If that does not help please also try to click a second time on the immunization tab.
Sometimes all items get immunized by the second run.
Do you have any other security programs installed that might block the immunization?

Best regards

Ok, I did all of it and when I did the "check again" at the top it ran like it was stuck. Which it did once before and I got impatient and shut it down. But this time I let it run.
It worked!!

Thanks so much for your help!
