And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

    We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

This playpickle malware/virus is killing me

There's a thread on this already, but I don't even know were to find the registrys listed to eliminate them, so I could really use some navigation tips. I've run SBS&D as well as CCleaner, Avast Anti Virus, and RootAlyzer to no avail. I'm running an older Thinkpad with recently swapped out guts, so it has very little on it. I deleted firefox so now all I have for browsers are IE and Chrome. My OS is Windows XP (which sadly I don't have a backup disc for, or I'd wipe the drive). I hope someone can provide easy to follow instructions on how to remove this. I'll be forever grateful.

In case you missed it please see the FAQ which also includes guidelines for this forum and instructions in post #2 on how to provide the preliminary DDS and aswMBR logs used for analysis.

Then start a new topic providing the DDS and aswMBR logs as shown in that sticky with a link back to this thread and a volunteer analyst will advise you when available. :)
