OK, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but when Spybot 2 was finally out, I updated, installed, did an immune and had it scan my system, after finding and cleaning medium-high risk stuff detected, on Internet Explorer 9 the icons per each tab opened went blank, or simply showing the IE symbol instead as if they were broke and weren't showing the icons for which website they normally associate with. I found this to be rather confusing as to exactly why this happend. Is there a fix for this?

Hello,

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean exactly.
Do you have a screenshot of this problem?

Best regards

I don't have a screenshot because I uninstalled Spybot 2 and put the original Spybot (1.6.2.46) back on my system until I could get more info. My problem is exactly what I described; After doing a scan, all of my Internet Explorer 9's tab icons (meaning I had multiple webpages open in the browser, but on the same single window) reverted back to showing the Internet Exploorer icon, as if unassociated with any website in particular. For example, a webpage open would display a Yahoo icon for that page's tab, AOL for an AOL website, this website itself shows an associating icon, etc. And as I stated, after my scans with Spybot 2, those simply changed back into Internet Explorer icons as if something was erased/removed or whatever and I'm not sure why it did this because the original version I'm currently running never ddi this before.

I think those are favicons:

I found a lot of people having trouble with favicons not showing on Internet Explorer 9,but couldn't find any real good fixes for it:

I did see that favicons are stored in the Temporary Internet Files folder.About the only thing I can think of is that your Temporary Internet Files may have been deleted, and your favicons were cleared. If so,they'd normally reload as you visit each website.None of them have started showing up again,so far?

The only thing I know of this whenver it happens whatever causes it is that they don't refresh right away and for a long time, and that there's usually no way of knowing when they'll revert back to the proper website associated icon. As for Spybot 2, I don't recall what all the items were detected the last time I scanned except that it'd found minial threat items.

Looking through my own scan results on Spybot 2,I think the favicons might have been cleared if you fixed Browser: Cache beside Internet Explorer.
That is under tracks.

If you've done a Spybot scan since you switched back to 1.6.2,did you get any results showing in green?
