Hi

I think you missed Please do NOT run 'FIXES' (ComboFix etc) without being asked (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=16806) (ran ComboFix though it shouldn't be used without supervision) sticky. Look for c:\ComboFix.txt file and copy-paste its contents back here.

IMPORTANT I notice there are signs of one or more P2P (Peer to Peer) File Sharing Programs on your computer.

µTorrent

I'd like you to read this thread (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282).

Please uninstall the programs listed above (in red). Post back fresh DDS logs when done.

Hi

I did read the post on not running Combofix but it was after the fact, sorry. I did have some issues with running this and had to restore computer back to a previous date. I will not be doing anything else until told to do so.

I have deleted the Utorrent if it is still listed please let me know.

Attached is the new dds log and combofix log.

Thanks

Hi

After looking closer at my new DDS log I noticed

uRun: [uTorrent] "C:\Program Files (x86)\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe" /MINIMIZED

I have deleted Utorrent and can not find any file as such ?

No problem. We'll deal with that :)

Please download a fresh copy of ComboFix to your desktop and run it. Post back the log.

Hi

I installed new copy of ComboFix and ran it but had issues.

I shutdown AVG before running and all other programs but when started a warning came up saying to shutdown Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus and antispyware program ? Could not find this program on my computer.

I proceeded with running ComboFix and have posted log.

Then when ComboFix was done I tried getting on Internet using explorer and google Chrome but an error came up

"C:\Program Files(x86)\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion"

I then proceed to restore computer back to point just before ComboFix ran.

Please Help:oops:

Hi,

Please re-run ComboFix and if you get the registry key error just reboot the system and it should be fine :). Post back the ComboFix log and run DDS again to get fresh dds.txt and attach.txt logs too.

Hi again,

Uninstall old Adobe Reader versions and get the latest one (Adobe Reader 11.0) here (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows) or get Foxit Reader here (http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader_2/down_reader.htm). Make sure you don't (unless you want to) install toolbar if choose Foxit Reader! You may also check free readers introduced here (http://pdfreaders.org/).

Good. Let's see the final steps then :)

THESE STEPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT

Let's reset system restore
Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected. Please note you need Administrator Access to do clean the restore points.

A To disable the System Restore feature:

1. Click on the Start button.
2. Hover over the Computer option, right click on it and then click Properties.
3. On the left hand side, click Advanced Settings.
4. If asked to permit the action, click on Allow.
5. Click on the System Protection tab.
6. Select c: drive and click Configure...
7. Select Turn off protection
8. Press OK.
Repeat steps 6-8 for each hard drive.

B. Reboot.

C Turn ON System Restore.
Follow the steps like you did when disabling system restore but on step 7. select Restore system settings and previous versions of files -option.

Now lets uninstall ComboFix:

Click START then RUN
Now copy-paste Combofix /uninstall in the runbox and click OK

UPDATING WINDOWS AND INTERNET EXPLORER

IMPORTANT: You Need to Update Windows and Internet Explorer to protect your computer from the malware that is around on the Internet. Please go to the windows update site (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) to get the critical updates.

Download and run Secunia Personal Software Inspector (PSI) (http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/) and fix its findings. Leave the program installed so you'll stay alarmed about vulnerable components in future too.

Just a final reminder for you. I am trying to stress these two points.
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!! Make sure you do this about every 1-2 weeks.
Make sure all of your security programs are up to date.
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

Once again, please post and tell me how things are going with your system... problems etc.

Have a great day,
Blade
