• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

GET RID of the Spybot 2 Tray PLEASE!!!

Just installed Spybot2 and I'm VERY VERY dissapointed!

There is NO WAY to stop or prevent the Spybot2 tray from re-appearing. It appears EVERY SINGLE TIME I reboot. Spybot should let the user have control over the tray icon!!! This is ridiculous!

I'm not given even the MOST BASIC control over the tray icon which MANY OTHER programs gives the user total control over the tray icon.

PLS GIVE US THE CONTROL OVER THE TRAY ICON PLEASE!!!

WAKEUP Spybot!!! :mad::mad:

Hello,

Please open the Spybot-S&D Start-Center.
Choose the "Advanced User Mode" by ticking the checkbox to activate it.
Now click on "Startup Tools".
If being asked what you want to do choose "Browse system settings".

Choose the tab "Autorun".
Open the following registry path by ticking the "+" in front of it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\

Now untick the checkbox in front of:
SDTray - C:\Program Files (x86)\Spybot - Search & Destroy 2\SDTray.exe

If you do not find this item on the first run, I would recommend to search for it.
To do so please take a look at the bottom of the site.
Here choose the third tab called "Search & Filters".
Only enter the filename here like "SDTray.exe" and then search for it.

Best regards
Sandra
