Spybot forum,
I recently downloaded Spybot2 onto my XP laptop. It
installed and is running correctly. I then downloaded
and installed in on a Windows 7 laptop and when I re-booted
it continues to ask me if it is OK to make changes. This
message never goes away and even prevents me from starting
the windows Task Manager. There was a web site that said
I could temproarily disable Spybot but the instructions
didn't work. I had to start in safe mode and remove Spybot.

I would like to install this again but need help avoiding
this problem.

Thanks for any reply,
jerdonald

Hello,

do you have any other Security-Software installed on your Windows 7?

bbnetwork,
Thanks for the reply.
I have Avast Internet Security installed on both laptops.

Win7 requires additional administrator rights than XP. Run Spybot from an admin user account, and use right click > Run as Administrator for functions. See:

yes, try it like this, if you have not done so sofar and also tempoary disable any other Security-Software during the Setup. You can reanble the Security-Software after the reboot after you installed Spybot.
