I updated Spybot today and did a scan on my laptop. When the scan reach the point after the halfway mark, my laptop displayed a Blue Screen Of Death stating a memory error. But my laptop has been running fine all today, yesterday and when I did a scan yesterday I didn't have any problems. I think todays update maybe flawed. Has anybody else experienced this problem today after they performed the update today?

My laptop is running Windows XP Home, with Spybot version 1.6.2, Norton Firewall and Norton Antivirus. It is a Intel Celeron system, with 1GB DDRAM and a 40GB HDD.

Hello,

I'm sorry, there were no issues reported so far.
You might want to try the scan with the new version Spybot 2.

Hello,

Do you know for which product it was scanning that moment?
Was anything found in the scan so far?

I would recommend to try the following:
Exclude Win32.OnlineGames.ws2 from the scan and try to run another check.

To do so please run Spybot - Search & Destroy in "Advanced Mode" and go to "Settings" -> "Ignore products". There you can tick the checkbox in front of the product you want to exclude from the search.

Best regards

Hopefully this weeks update will repair the problem, if not I will follow your advice, spybotsandra and see what happens. If I still get the same problem I will install Spybot 2 and see if I still get the same problem.

Everything seems to be running fine now after I performed the update and exluded Win32.OnlineGames.ws2 from the scanning process.
