Hello! Yesterday I was running windows defenders scan, however a bit into the search the service stops running and it instantly shutsdown, this made me suspicious that a malware attack done something to it, but after running malwarescans using amongst others spyobt nothing was detected. This is frustrating because that could either mean there is no malware or that it is really cleverly hidden or whatever I'm not an expert.

I'm currently running windows 8 and the error code I get while searching is 0x800106ba I've been looking through microsofts site about information about the error and what pops up is that it means the service stopped running, but my issue is why the service stopped running more than that the service stopped.

How should I procced from here? Should I assume the computer is safe and some unexplained error has occured? Or is there something else I can do? I do not want to reinstall my OS if possible.

I ran a few other malware detectors and found a threat in the form of "virtool.win32/obfuscator.XZ" Which I manually deleted and since then I've had no issues. But it was the error code "0x800106ba Application failed to initialize"
