Data references?

Hi


Before when I ran spybot there data references (or do you call them indexes?) they were up in the 47,000 range.

When I ran spybot I would look at the bottom of the window to see this number.

my computer was reformated

spybot reinstalled

now the data references are at 41457

I like to check for updates daily

I like to run the program daily

when I checked today there are no newer updates

when I downloaded spybot after the compuer was reformated I am pretty sure I downloaded it from this site if it wasn't this site then it was downloads.com

When I go help then about,

it tells me that I have version 1.4

latest detection update of 2006-08-25

why was the number 47,??? before and now 41,457 ?

The reduction happened with the 2006-08-11 updates. From:

If you take a look at todays update list, you may notice that the number of fingerprints is smaller than those of earlier updates. This is not due to detections that have been removed, but due to improvements that the last engine now allows, resulting in smaller update download sizes and faster scans.
