free Version 2.1 manual updates

Simply wondering IF there is a site/link etc to manually update the free version 2.1 I have been unable to find anything definitive in the forums/faq. Mostly just issues with update failures etc. Please advise, thank you

Hello,

You can still use the manual updater, which is available on the download part of our website - it's called Detection Updates (http://www.safer-networking.org/dl/).
Here is the direct-update-link (http://www.safer-networking.org/updates/files/spybotsd_includes.exe) where you can reach the latest update everytime.
Please use the Spybot 2 program folder as Destination Folder to store the update, by default:
Windows XP: C:\Program Files\Spybot – Search & Destroy 2
Windows Vista or Windows 7 or Windows 8: C:\Programs (x86)\Spybot – Search & Destroy 2

Thank you Sandra.

I was able to manually run the updates. For some reason, it would not allow me to run the 1.62 version because I "did not have network connection." That pesky win32.downloader.gen still picked up.
