The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "Google.Toolbar" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Google.Toolbar is installed by other software like Optimum Installer without proper user consent. It gets installed as a toolbar to the Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd), RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

Entries named "swg" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier\GoogleToolbarNotifier.exe".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) or RunAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=runalyzer) to locate and get rid of these entries.

Products that have a key or property named "{18455581-E099-4BA8-BC6B-F34B2F06600C}".

Files:

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsd) to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

The directory at "<$COMMONAPPDATA>\Google\Google Toolbar".
The directory at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\Google Toolbar".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Google\Google Toolbar".
The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Google\GoogleToolbarNotifier".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Google.Toolbar uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

Delete the registry key "{1A972DAF-A7EC-4ce3-B6C9-7B523CD6685F}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\ElevationPolicy\".
Delete the registry key "{80B84A0A-EDA4-47fd-8BE1-6B49F4197EE5}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\ElevationPolicy\".
Delete the registry key "{EE0B94B9-335F-4d2c-8B43-DACCD1EA6FF1}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Low Rights\ElevationPolicy\".
Delete the registry key "18555481990E8AB4CBB63FB4F26006C0" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products\".
Delete the registry key "Google Toolbar" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\".
Delete the registry key "Google Toolbar" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\".
Delete the registry key "Google Toolbar" at "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Google\".
Delete the registry key "Google Toolbar" at "HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Google\".
Delete the registry key "GoogleToolbarNotifier" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Google\".
Delete the registry key "GoogleToolbarNotifier" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Google\".
Delete the registry key "GoogleToolbarNotifier" at "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Google\".
Delete the registry key "GoogleToolbarNotifier" at "HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Google\".
If Google.Toolbar uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer (http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=regalyzer), RootAlyzer (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=8) or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins (http://forums.spybot.info/downloads.php?id=3).
